Engineer Filson Apambila Awankua, an aspirant for the Upper East Regional NPP Chairmanship race has admonished married men to, at all times, pay heed to the wise counsel of their wives.

He said only then, could they [the men] find peace and success in their personal lives as well as their careers.

He said this when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East.

“My wife is very prayerful; Mrs Filson Awuankua. When I am free, she drags me to church. She says we just go to church. When I am home, she will be going to church and she will call and say Filson, go for prayers. Then I would go.”

“If you want to live long, listen to the advice of your wife. You see, it is not for nothing that God said and the two can be one. There is a reason. If you are a lucky man or woman, then God will always meet you with the right stars. Myself and my wife have been married for 15 years with 5 children. I have a stable marriage,” he said.

Ing Awankua was speaking about his personal life and his career progression as an engineer when he made those comments.

Describing himself as a very successful engineer, he said he owed it mainly to God, family, his determination to succeed and very good guidance along the way.

Ing Awankua has stated his interest in leading the NPP in the Upper East Region as chairman of the party. He is expected to contest the positions alongside the current Chairman, Lawyer Anthony Namoo, the current Regional Organiser, Jerry Asamane and the current 1st Vice Chairman of the Party, Dr. Moses Atinga.
