Michael Nanjena, an NDC communicator in the Upper East Region has described transparency in the current government as non-existent.

Speaking on the Daybreak Upper East on A1 Radio, Mr. Nangena said transparency in terms of the country’s governance and the democratic process has been thrown to the dogs.

He cited the Agyapa Deal and E-Levy as typical examples of how the Akufo Addo led government enjoyed operating in secrecy.

Mr. Nangena stated that, ” if you come to transparency in terms of our governance system, it’s been thrown to the dogs. There are a whole lot of things that are done very opaquely. Let’s take for example this issue Agyapa. Many people cannot still phantom the arrangement of that particular thing. And there seem not to be any willingness from the side of government to really lay bare, some of the issues that are actually packed in Agyapa.”

He added that people still do not understand a lot of things surrounding the structure of the E-levy system.

“There were a whole lot of things that many people still don’t understand even the structure of this taxing.”

Earlier, Mr. Nangena described corruption under the current administration as legendary. According to Mr. Nangena, the President is superintending; serving as the judge and the player in corruption-related matters.

“When it comes to corruption, corruption has become so legendary to the extent that in fact, what is now making it difficult is that, the president himself has actually gone into the ring and most at times he’s the judge and he’s the player.”

Me. Nangena said this when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper Show, Monday, June 6, 2022.
