The Overlord of the Buru-Navio Traditional Area, Navio Pio Pe Adams Kwarase Asongojem Parijei Adurigola II has expressed worry about the attitude of young people toward wealth. He said it has become a prevalent idea for young people to seek wealth, regardless of the means. This would suggest that young people, through fair or foul means, would want to become rich.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show, the Navio Pio intimated that because of the often foul means young people want to make money by, they die very young.

He was again worried about the fact that young people are no longer interested in working hard, putting in their best and taking their time to get things right.

“We should not allow money to be leading us. If you see young guys going to the grave early, it is because of money. Everybody wants to be rich. Everybody wants to be somebody. Meanwhile, it is not like that, there is a process.”

“I was a footballer. I never thought I will be a chief. When it got to the enskinment, I was even using my older brothers,” he said.

The Navio Pio encouraged young people to stay better themselves through training and education as those would provide avenues for sustainable wealth stressing that the get rich quick schemes and other foul means of making money cannot be helpful.

Earlier, Navio Pio Pe Adams Kwarase Asongojem Parijei Adurigola II has expressed some disquiet about the continued disrespect for chiefs in the Upper East Region.

He also was worried about the general decline of respect for the elderly in society.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show, today, June 15, 2022, the Navio Pio, intimated that over the past few decades, the respect that chiefs commanded has dwindled. This he said has affected the power, eminence and authority of the chiefs in the region.

The Navio Pio admitted that some of the chiefs have had a part to play in the current situation.
