The sensation and interest surrounding comments that suggested that water within the Bongo District contained some special traits that enchanted the sexual abilities of men, and increase libido and fertility in women put the district on the world map. The comments that were reported by the various news outlets in the Upper East Region also gave a lot of traction to the various media outlets, allowing them expanded access and reach.

This is according to the Former DCE for the area, Peter Ayinbisa. He said this when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show today, Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

While insisting that he did not make such comments, the former DCE said the comments that were widely circulated on social media allowed the District to gain a lot of popularity. While some of that attention was positive, parts of it were negative.

“The comments put Bongo on the world map; both positive and negative. I believe that your network [A1 Radio] had more followers within that period. That also gave you a market. I called people to actually come and do some research to see whether there is some truth to it or not.”

“Fortunately, there was a university in Germany that called and said they were interested in coming to see whether they can research into it. It is worth noting and worth studying,” he added.
