The Council Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East region, Mrs. Grace Abatey has died.
She died yesterday, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at age 91. A statement from the party’s Regional Secretary, Elvis Atia Awonekai Figo said the late Mrs. Abatey was the first NPP Regional Women’s Organizer in Upper East.
The statement added that the Regional Chairman and secretariate acknowledge the passing of Mrs. Abatey with profound grief and offer their condolences to her family in Navrongo.

CHAIRPERSON OF NPP UPPER EAST REGIONAL COUNCIL OF ELDERS PASSES ON.
The Upper East Regional Council of Elders’ Chairperson, Mrs Grace Abatey, passed away today, and the Regional Chairman and Regional Secretariat acknowledge her loss with profound grief.
She was the first NPP regional women’s organizer in Upper East. 91 was her age. We offer our condolences to the Abatey Family in Navrongo and elsewhere during this terrible time, and we pray that the Almighty God grant her eternal rest.
