The Upper Regional Director of Communications for the NPP, Peter Ayinbisa is unhappy with calls for the resignation of the President amid the government’s decision to return to IMF.

He said during the erstwhile administration if no one resigned, why would some people think it is legitimate for the President, Nana Akufo Addo to resign.

He said this when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show.

“I do not think we have got to a point where the president must resign at all. We have not got there at all. We had a president who was also CEO of this country and went to IMF and nobody resigned. We are not going to IMF for policy credibility. We are going there with our own programme.”

He said the NPP administration is going to the IMF with its head held high because the government is going to the Fund with its own policies and not those that would be imposed on the country by the Fund.

“We need to get this one fast. The NPP government, in 2022, is going to the IMF with our own programme NDC went to seek policy credibility, they did not have their own programme. The IMF told them what they should do. We are seeking the blessing of the IMF team to agree with us on what we want to do.”
