Humanity First Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has as part of its ‘feed the needy programme’ to mark the Eid-ul-adha celebrations, donated food items valued at Ghc 5,000.00 to the Mama Laadi orphanage in Yorogo, a community in the Upper East Region.

According to a volunteer with the organisation, Mohammed Naeom Kpedai, Eid-ul-adha is a festival of giving; giving to the vulnerable and underprivileged persons in society. It was for this reason for they donated to the Mama Laadi orphanage home.

According to Mr. Kpedai, Humanity First Ghana has over the last ten years supported needy and deprived communities across the country to mark every Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

Speaking at the brief handing over ceremony, Mohammed stated that, “it is more appropriate to and timely to support Mama Laadi orphanage in this month of giving, sharing and festivity so that our orphans will join the rest of them to mark the 2022 Eid-ul-Adha (Qurbani) celebrations with ecstasy; as orphans care is one of our thematic areas.”

Adding that, “Humanity First Ghana entreats that management of this orphanage will ensure that, this little support gets to the rightful beneficiaries.” The items donated included, a cow and bags of rice.

On his part, the Administrator of Mama Laadi orphanage Ismaan Ayariga thanked Humanity First Ghana and explained that the gesture will go a long way to help in the children’s upkeep and therefore pledge that everything meant for the children shall reach them.
