The People’s National Convention ( PNC) has pleaded with the leadership of Parliament, the Privilege Committee and the government as a whole to exercise some level of patience when dealing with the absenteeism case against the Member of Parliament for the Dome Kwabenya Constituency Sarah Adwoa Sarfo.

A Press release signed by the PNC general Secretary Janet Asana Nabla and Copied to a1radioonline.com stated that the absence of the Minister for Gender and Social Protection in Parliament and her Ministry is worrying but her welfare is equally important for the PNC therefore sympathy should be highly considered when Parliament and the government are going to take any action against her.

The statement noted that the Dome Kwabenya Constituency MP has been in Parliament since 2009 with no record of absenting herself from Parliament for this long but her recent absence is strange.

The PNC believes the Gender Minister has given an obvious reason for her absences, that relates to her child birth and it complications; a matter that should be treated very with empathy.

The PNC also called on the Parliament of Ghana and the NPP government expedite action and enact law would enable all employers in Ghana to have a designated place for breastfeeding mothers.

Below is the full statement.
