The Deputy Upper East Regional Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Casper Kampoli has expressed confidence in the opposition NDC winning the 2024 polls but added that the party needs to be extra vigilant.

“We’re hoping that this election that is a forgone conclusion, John Dramani Mahama will become the President come 2025 but we have an Electoral Commissioner I often say the way things are going the only person who will attempt to subvert the will of the people of this country is the Electoral Commissioner,” Mr Kampoli stated.

He mentioned that “we must put our house in order; we must put the systems the structures that need to be put in place. We must be extra vigilant to protect the mandate of the people of this country because the mandate has been given to the NDC already. We just have to protect it and make sure that it is declared come 7th December, 2024.”

Speaking on Day Break Upper East Show, the NDC Deputy Communications Officer said the party was at present engaging in internal reorganization.

“We recently started the limited registration of members across the country; people are yearning to join the NDC so we needed to activate that process to make sure that our family members who have attained18, others who are more than 18 but they don’t see a reason to join the NDC are now joining the NDC. The figures that are coming are so amazing.”

According to him the next leg of the reorganization will be the election of branch executives and appealed to members to be patient with the party.

“My appeal to the rank and file of the party is that they should exercise restraint. Daily you get people calling you when is the process starting, the branch, the constituency; is like the NPP that is in government is almost done with their process and we’re not acting in that regard.”

He said the NPP is not a standard for the NDC and so the party works in line with its constitution and strategies.
