Deputy Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region, Kasper Sunday Kampoli has called on members of the party to own up and contest for branch-level positions as the party’s internal calendar for elections is out. The National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced a road map toward its internal branch elections.

The exercise will begin on July 20 and end on September 3, 2022, for the entire country. Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr. Kampoli said the party is ready to take up power from the governing NPP come 2025 hence it is important for party members with membership cards to take up the responsibility in order to achieve the ultimate goal.

He noted that it is not just the responsibility of executives at the Constituencies, Regional, National levels, and parliamentary candidates to win power for the NDC but it is a collective effort.

“Let me use your platform to say the party restructuring process has started the calendar is out we are opening the party register for exhibition nominations opening will come after that and we will vet people. And between 27th July to 1st if August the northern zone Upper East, Northern, Savannah Upper West Regions we will be having our branch level election”

“You know they are modalities and guidelines that are involved. If you qualify what you are supposed to do is to make sure that you take up responsibility at the branch level because our quest to take over governor come 2024 after wining the election is a shared responsibility. It is beyond the regional Executives. It is beyond John Mahama. Every member of the party must come on board and support so those who have the capacity to serve at the branch level I entreat them to join and put up themselves to serve in that regard,” he stated.
