Following the directive by the Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful on the extension of the deadline for the SIM re-registration exercise, the Founder and leader of the All People’s Congress (APC) has expressed worry and disappointment about the pressure being kept on Ghanaians to re-register their SIM with another stated deadline.

Speaking to A1 Radio Mr. Ayariga said the Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful is showcasing her incompetence because of the rather tortuous process in acquiring a Ghana card from the National Identification Authority. He opined that there, therefore, needs to be no limited time for the re-registration process.

“You see the incompetence of this country is becoming one too many and because nobody is checking and everybody is just getting away with everything people do, things are becoming the way they are. If not, this Minister shouldn’t be at post. Because she keeps conflicting herself,” he said.

Whiles sharing his experience to require his Ghana card, Mr. Ayariga stated that Ghanaians are going through a lot of frustrations in order to register for the Ghana card at the various registration centres across the country.

This the APC leader said that should have been an indication for the Minister and the government not to ever think of placing a deadline for SIM re-registration exercise since there is no urgency about it.
