The Upper East Regional Coordinating Director, Alhaji Abubakari Inusah has reminded all Municipal and District Assembly staff in the region to be professional in their line of duties and avoid partisan politics.

He said the Local Government Act does not allow assembly workers to engage in partisan politics but to support the ruling government to implement its policies successfully.

Alhaji Inusah said it is therefore important that all assembly workers help the current government to succeed in all its flagship programmes.

He warned that any local government staff caught working against any of the government programmes shall face the law.

The Coordinating Director sounded this warning at the Builsa South District Assembly when he accompanied the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu to address the Assembly staff in Fumbisi.

“I also want to question you that you are not politicians, you are local government staff, therefore, you are supposed to be very professional in the discharge of your duties.”

“And also you are supposed to support the DCE to be able to implement all the government policy that is, one village one dam, one district one factory, plantings for food and Jobs, planting for export and all those programmes”

“If we find you working against them, that means you are not a professional local government worker. The supreme court has ruled on that and if you are caught you have to blame yourself because you will be dismissed.”

He also appealed to all residents in the Upper East Region to support the Regional Minister. Stephen Yakubu to bring development to the region.
