Roger Haun III has lived in Nalerigu with his parents since he was only 1 year old. Roger perfected his unicycling skills on the mountain paths of the area and feels Ghanaian. He was even given the Mamprusi name “Manboora” by Na Bohagu, the King of the Mamprugu Kingdom himself.
Young Manboora won Silver in the 30-mile wheel walk race and won gold in the 50 Mile one wheel race for 15 to 16-year-olds.
In a world where black-born sportsmen are often in the news for naturalizing for white-dominated countries, this young “Mamprugu-doe” in white skin has demonstrated love for mother Ghana. We celebrate his success and wish him more success in his chosen sports.
