The Executive Director for the Northern Patriots in Research and Advocacy (NORPRA), Bismark Adongo Ayorogo is claiming that the Upper East Regional Medical Stores are empty. As such, it has become difficult for health facilities to access even the most basic drugs at the facility.

This came to light when Mr. Ayorogo spoke on A1 Radio today, Monday, August 8, 2022.

He explained that restocking the Medical Stores or, at the very least, talking about the challenge should have been among the activities of the President who visited the Upper East Region for a day’s working visit.

“Our medical stores are practically empty. Our hospitals are without medication. You go to the hospital and even if you are having the health insurance card, it is difficult to access drugs. I expected the president to speak about the state of our medical stores,” Mr. Ayorogo said.

The President was in the Upper East Region to commission the Upper East Regional Water Supply Project in Tono. The project is expected to benefit some 350,000 people.
