Staff within MDAs, UERCC who don’t work towards development of Upper East Region’ll be booted out – Chief Director of UERCC

The Upper East Regional Coordinating Council (UERCC) has warned that there will be severe consequences for workers within the local government service whose work does not support the development agenda of the region.

Speaking on the Day Break Upper East show with Mark Kwasi Ahumah Smith today, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, the Chief Director at the UERCC, Alhaji Abubakar Inusah said the RCC would no longer tolerate poor work from staff within the RCC and at the various Municipal and District Assemblies.

These new strategies, to be implemented, are to help boost the development of the Upper East Region.

“Things cannot be as usual. This current leadership has the intention to ensure that the negativities that used to be associated with the image of the Upper East Region are cleared. We want to reverse those negativities into positives.”

Alhaji Inusah continued to say that “you [workers within the LGS] must join this vehicle otherwise you would find yourself outside the vehicle. If you are not interested to be in the region, we will send you outside the region.”

“If you do not want to be part of our vision, we will show you the exit. I advise them that they should cooperate [with us] and be very conversant with their mandate.”

One of the key strategies to be enforced to ensure the rapid development of the Upper East Region, according to Alhaji Inusah, is the appraisal tool. The staff of the Local Government Service would be assessed based on the level of output and performance within the institutions in which they operate.
