The Upper East Regional capital of Bolgatanga vicinity does not currently have any ambulance serving residents who may need emergency health care services.
According to Citi News Upper East Regional Correspondent, Agana Bawa, the two of ambulances which were running in the region were destroyed in an accident.
“The ambulance stationed at Bolgatanga was involved in an accident whiles it was rushing to attend to an emergency case. On Tuesday, the Busa district ambulance was also rushing a woman with labour complications from sandema to the regional hospital in Bolgatanga when a black bull crossed it at yekeni, a few kilometers to the hospital resulting in the accident”. He said
Also, he cited indiscipline on the part of residence as a contributing factor to these accidents. Residents do not adhere to the siren when the ambulance approaches thus, resulting in several accidents.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bawa has appealed to authorities to provide the assembly with an ambulance to cater for the numerous accidents recorded in the municipality.
