The Water Resources Commission, in a press release, on Wednesday 31st August 2022 announced the spillage of water from the Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso.
The presser contained that, “an update from SONABEL, the Power Utility [provider] of Burkina Faso indicated that the upstream level of the dam was at 234.88m.”
It further stated that if the current inflows continued, they may commence the spillage by 1st September, 2021.
The statement added that the spillage may cause the White Volta to overflow its banks. The report, therefore, advised residents along the White Volta to take precautionary measures to avoid being harmfully affected.
