“To have a PM [in Kassena-Nankana West District Assembly] would be myself and them [the members of the assembly]. We met, we couldn’t elect a PM.”

The DCE for Kassena-Nankana West District, Gerard Ataogye said this when he spoke on the Day Break Upper East Show, Monday, September 5, 2022.

His comments were in response to a question from Maxwell Akanuwe, Assembly Member for the Longo Electoral Area, about when the Assembly would be able to elect a PM.

The DCE encouraged Mr. Akanuwe “to talk to his colleagues. Let us stand as one because, without PM, the business of the district would not auger well for us.”

“Can you imagine meeting to elect a PM and you do not get? It means that the resources used that day, I won’t say have gone to waste but it is not a good thing. I would rather throw the challenge to him [Maxwell Akanuwe]. Help me talk to your colleagues.”

Later the month, the Assembly may meet to try to elect a PM for the Assembly. This is according to the DCE.
