The Upper East Regional branch of the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers has hinted that under the ongoing price review, a bag of sachet water will be sold at Ghc5.00 come October 1, 2022.

This follows a national consultation with stakeholders to review the prices of bottled and sachet water.

The Association’s Secretary at the regional level, Moses Nosh made this known on A1 Radio.

According to him, the review prices became necessary due to the continued increase in prices of raw materials and utility prices.

“The price reviews are necessary because prices keep on increasing every single day. What do you expect us to do? We know that things are hard but if we do not do that, we will equally run out of business.”

“Before the communique even came from the national level, we at the regional level did speak of it and made some conclusions. We expect the public to bear with us in this difficult time.”

The National level has tasked all regional associations to ensure uniformity across the country as ice bottled water 500ml will sell at 2ghc, iced bottled water 750ml or medium size sell at 3ghc, and iced sachet water would go for Ghc50 pesewas.

It further indicated that a bag of sachet water, 500ml by 30, will also sell at Ghc7.00 from the retail trucks, Mini shops will now retail a bag of sachet at 9ghc per bag.

The reviews take effect from Monday, September 19, 2022.
