Processes that would lead up to the election of constituency executives across all 15 constituencies in the Upper East Region have begun. This is according to the Regional Secretary of the NDC, Donatus Akamugri.

He said this when he spoke on the Day Break Upper East Show.

The processes began with the opening of nominations for interested persons to begin to pick forms for onward submission.

Mr. Akamugri encouraged the aspirants to work within the time frame as given by the party or unless stated otherwise.

“We are beginning the constituency conferences today [yesterday, Tuesday, September 20, 2022]. We are opening nominations. Acquire a form in you are interested in contesting for a position,” he said.

Mr. Donatus explained that all the forms would be made available digitally. This would mean aspirants would have to download the form, fill them and return them to the constituency offices at a later date.

Meanwhile, 10 branches in the Upper East Region are yet to conduct their elections. This is because of the concerns and petitions received from those areas.

The inability of the branches to hold their elections would not however prevent the NDC from carrying out the constituency-level elections in the Upper East Region.

Mr. Akamugri also cautioned that candidates who intend to run for office must conduct themselves with the utmost candour, decency, and diplomacy before, during, and after the constituency-level elections.

The NDC continues to be a peaceful party, thus the candidates were urged to try to avoid controversy, violence, and needless drama.
