“When the time comes, we will see what happens. Is that alright?” Madam Tangoba Abayage said when she was asked about her interest in representing the Navrongo Central constituency on the ticket of the NPP.
She was speaking to Gerard Asagi in a recent interview at her school, Tangoba Legends School at Yikene.
Madam Tangoba’s comments were in response to messages from listeners who suggested that she makes a grand return to lead the NPP to take the seat from the current MP, Sampson Chiragiaa Tangombu.
“It would be very unfair for me, for the party and for the constituency to be declaring whether I’m going or not.”
“If I say no, we are opening the floodgates. If I say yes, we are opening the floodgates. One day in life is so long a time. We do not even know what is going to happen to us tomorrow. So when the time comes and the party opens the gate for people to contest, people would know whether I’m contesting or not,” she said.
