Songwriter and singer, Stevo Atambire has tabled October 30, 2022, for the 5th edition of the “Saa Woo” Festival celebration.

“Saa Woo” which translates to rain, seeks to promote and redefine the people of Nayorigo, a community where the singer hails in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region.

Speaking to Moses Apiah of A1 Radio, the singer explained that the only gift he could ever give to his people for their immense contributions was “Saa Woo” to put a spotlight on the community and help drive development.

“Celebrating Saa Woo for the 5th time in the community has brought development to the people. Last year for instance, our focus was on health issues and we did free screening and other health-related issues. Hundreds of people were tested for hepatitis B and 50 were vaccinated freely.”

This year’s celebration, he said, will be focusing on improving local artists.

“We will be commissioning Sirigu Painters to come and design the festival space. And also we will promote artists in the region.”

The singer expects about 15,000 participants for the event.
