The Deputy Upper East Region Communication Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sunday Casper Kampoli has stated that he is not contesting his boss for the position of the Regional Communication Officer in the party’s upcoming election.

Casper Kampoli’s boss, Saeed Ahmed Tijani is seeking the support of delegates to retain his position in the party.

Speaking on A1 Radio, the aspiring Regional Communication Officer says that a lot of narratives have come up ever since he made the decision to contest for the position.

“As I’ve decided that am going to go for the position, a lot of narratives have been coming up and I see them as unfortunate sentimental narratives because they’re immaterial to the task that we have ahead of us. I’m not contesting my boss. There’s a vacuum, there’s an office; the NDC says people should vye for that office. I’m of the view that we don’t contest personalities we contest for offices. Is the office am contesting for.”

He noted that “this is not the first time a Deputy Regional Communication Officer is contesting a substantive position where the substantive is also interested in it.”

According to him, the current Regional Communication Officer contested his boss in 2014 for the substantive position.
