Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor has stated that he is not doing party work because he wants to have an opportunity to go and serve in government.

Dr Otokunor who served under General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has declared his intention to contest the General Secretary position of the party.

He said that “my personal motivation to take this role is driven by that passion that the party must be stronger and must be first. I’m not doing this work because I want to have an opportunity to go and serve in government because the opportunity had come and I have left it to serve this party. The time will come when I have to play a role in government and I’ll play that role but as it stand now I’ve committed all myself and service and I have learnt the trade.”

The General Secretary hopeful boasted of his capabilities and said that he is the best candidate for the job.

“I believe that my knowledge and skills and experience in the office of the General Secretary is unparalleled among anybody who want to contest. I stand very tall. Those who have even come closer they didn’t get the opportunity to be impacted, to be trained like I’ve been trained.”

Dr Otokunor added that he is the best bet for the NDC if the party is really interested in winning the 2024 elections and beyond.
