The Upper East Regional Communication Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Ayinbisa has stated that he was not surprised by the decision of some NPP MPs to demand the sacking of finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
What rather surprised Mr Ayinbisa is the braveness, the fact that they were bold, they defied all olds and they had the courage to stage that press conference”.
“But I believe that I saw it coming because we had an interaction with some of the majority MPs and then from the conversation it was clear that some people like any other person were not happy,” he said.
According to Mr Ayinbisa this is the period that the MPs can use to make a case for themselves as the government prepares to read the 2023 budget.
“But of course like you listened to them, they’re Ghanaians. They live in various constituencies and they had a long break. So when they came home during the vacation they interacted with their constituents, they listened to them and I guess these are some of the things they were being told”, he added.
He said the MPs have their democratic rights and matured to know what is good for them and Ghanaians.
