The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Lawyer Anthony Namoo has indicated that the recent demands for the removal of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta by some Majority MPs were a sign of democracy and good governance practised by the NPP.

He said people especially those who are wearing political lenses for the wrong reasons should look at the action of the MPs as a good sign and not connote negativity.

“Even in our region, we appointed some people. Letters upon letters were written expressing views. But that was a sign of democracy. We did not say that those who thought otherwise shouldn’t voice their concerns. Of course, not every action will favour everyone. So, yes, the 80 majority of MPs have expressed their views and that shows that we are all in the party but have different views. And that is a sign of democracy. So, their concerns should be a wakeup call for him (Finance Minister). If there are things that he can do,  he should for the betterment of everyone.”

Lawyer Namoo made this known in an exclusive on Daybreak Upper East Show on A1 Radio.

Touching on the issue of the ministerial reshuffling, Lawyer Namoo explained that the President, Akufo Addo understands the importance of reshuffling hence people should have faith in him.

“Reshuffle is on the drawing board; he, the president, is looking at it. If today, the President decided that Mr. A or B should go here or there, definitely, we will be the same people that will say we forced him to do something. So, I believe strongly that reshuffle is on the drawing board.”
