Money won’t affect elections; delegates are mature, responsible – Fawzia Yakubu

Fawzia Yakubu, a Women Organizer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress in the Upper East Region has mentioned that contesting for the position is capital intensive due to the limited number of delegates that vote in the category.

She spoke on A1Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show today October 31, 2022.

“At times you go to someone after telling the fellow what you think you can do, the fellow tells you I’ll support you but behind the scenes the fellow is working against you. And because it is a limited number it is difficult to know who will vote for you and who will not vote and is capital intensive”.

She is however not worried that money could be used against her in the election due to the limited number of delegates for that category.

According to her, the delegates are mature and cannot be bought with money.

“The women are matured; they know what is good for them. So at the end of the day if you think bringing money or resources to them to vote for you, I don’t think you can succeed in doing that.”

“My final message to the delegates is that I’m here to represent the region; I have the temperament to lead them. Being in that position doesn’t make me superior. I think with their support at the various constituencies we’ll be able to change what is happening in the women’s wing now. I’ll just plead with them to give me the opportunity to prove to them that we can really achieve our aim of getting all the 15 seats in the region”, she concluded.
