General Manager of A1 Radio, a subsidiary of Agreed Best Communications Limited, William Nlanjerbor Jalulah has encouraged journalists to pursue impactful journalism that would bring relief to residents in the areas they operate.

He said this when Moses Abaa Apiah presented a citation awarded to him by the Youth Harvest Foundation to management of the A1 Radio. Moses Abaa Apiah was recently recognized by the Youth Harvest Foundation after his sterling audio-feature, ‘Trapped on the Motherhood Web.’ Moses Abaa Apiah won for himself, the Most impactful radio feature story in a mini-awards ceremony by the Youth Harvest Foundation.

Mr. Jalulah used the opportunity to congratulate the journalist and encouraged other journalists to work hard to impact society with their reportage.

He said, “I want to use this opportunity to congratulate Moses. I think he has been very enterprising when it comes to  humanity and that’s the core mandate of every journalist. That is you seek to create opportunities for people who have been left out in terms of social support. This story he did that brought support from Youth Harvest Foundation  Ghana to the young lady who is back to school and has support from the foundation. I want to use this opportunity to congratulate Moses for having a very good story that has brought him this recognition. This does not go to him only, it also goes to the company, A1 radio and to his colleagues.”

“Again, I want to use this opportunity to encourage all colleagues to try and focus on stories that draw the attention of society to people who need support so that when we get these support for people, they will be taken out of their predicaments.”

The Youth Harvest Foundation Ghana at this year’s media engagement and recognition ceremony to hard working media practitioners gave out a number of awards. The categories were Most impactful documentary on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Most impactful radio feature story on teenage motherhood, Most impactful story on SGV-online category and Most impactful radio programme on reproductive health.
