David Atibila from Kandiga in the Kassena Nankana West District has been adjudged the overall best Farmer in the district in the 38th Farmers Day Celebration in the district.
He was given a motorbike, a pair of Wellington Boots, 5 long bars of Key soap, 2 cutlasses, 1 litre of organic fertiliser, 1 bag of green fertiliser and 2 Knapsack Sprayers.
While expressing his appreciation for the award, the Overall Best Farmer encouraged everyone to venture into farming. He added that everyone depends on food and to ensure that there’s enough food, everyone must farm.
“I want to say thank you for this award. Let me tell everyone to also farm. If you don’t farm no matter what you are doing you must eat food.”
In the same event Azuntaaba Maxwell Abagna from Kassalingo was adjudged the 1st runner up. He received a 32″ Plasma TV, a bicycle, 5 long bars of Key soap, a pair of Wellington Boots, 1 Knapsack Sprayer, 1 litre of organic fertiliser, 1 bag of Green fertiliser and a cutlass.
The 38th Farmers Day in the Kassena Nankana West District was marked in the Kayoro community. In all, 10 awardees were honoured at the event for their support in boosting the agricultural sector in the district.
