Lamtiig Apanga, a lawyer and politician from the Nabdam Constituency in the Upper East Region, is hoping to mentor and guide 10 people from the constituency to become lawyers.

The assistance and guidance would help to demystify the legal profession and allow interested individuals to receive the assistance they require while pursuing their dreams.

Lawyer Apanga, who is the Director of Legal Affairs for the NDC in the Upper East Region, explained that this move would be one of the many he has planned to help develop the Nabdam area.

His plea, thus, was to the electorate. Lawyer Apanga was hopeful that he would be given the chance to become MP for the area.

“I have personally put on myself, a target to support young people in the legal profession. I want to be able to support and encourage 10 lawyers in 10 years. Fortunately, as I speak to you today, there are 5 lawyers from Nabdam. The five, they didn’t start today. Two of them are in their LLB final year. This year, we have 2 who have obtained admission,” he said.

While the intended support may not be financial, the mentorship and guidance would define the professions of these individuals., according to Lawyer Apanga.

“It is not financial support per se but the encouragement, the guidance or sometimes what they need to go forward,” he said.
