44-year-old Daniel Mahama from the Zubeong community in the Talensi District has joined the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary primaries race in the area.

Mr. Mahama, a customs officer by profession, indicated that issues of youth unemployment, improved healthcare, as well as women’s and children’s empowerment need improvement in the area.

“Majority of the youth here in Talensi have various forms of degrees yet are not employed. It is an issue that I’m taking note of. Women and children’s empowerment also need to look at. So, all these are areas that I will be working on when allowed to represent the party as its parliamentary candidate.”

The 44-year-old made this known to the media on March 22nd, 2023, when he filed his nomination form at the party office in Talensi.

“Just look around. The constituency is blessed with all the resources that, with a little push from leadership, can help youth growth, but what are we seeing? So, I think that I have what it takes to unify and bring together developing partners and the traditional leaders to chalk up a part of growth for our youth, children, and the future”, he stressed.

Meanwhile, in the Talensi constituency, out of the 9 persons who initially picked their nomination forms to contest for the NDC parliamentary primaries, 8 have successfully met the deadline and filed their nomination forms as of Wednesday 22nd March 2023.
