Give to Life, a non-governmental organisation headquartered in Accra, the national capital, has handed over educational materials worth Ghc8,832.00 to four schools in the Talensi District, Bolgatanga East District, and Kassena-Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region.

At Pologo Junior High School, 431 books with pens were distributed to the students. Students at the Dachio Tenganori Primary School received 362 books with pens, pencils, sharpeners, and erasers. In the Kassena-Nankana Municipality, students of Yua Junior High School received 457 books and pens. In the Talensi District, the Gbeogo Primary School is set to receive 750 books with pens, pencils, sharpeners, and erasers.

The Upper East Regional Coordinator of GTLCO, Paulina Azaare, explained that the organisation is committed to enhancing the educational fortunes of rural schoolchildren.

When Madam Azaare spoke to the students of the Dachio Tenganori Primary School, she said, “We are giving you these exercise books so that you can use them to learn. You will have to use them to write, study, and do everything else your teachers tell you.”

She urged the students, particularly the girls, to stick to their education and strive for excellence. Madam Azaare maintained that education remains the surest way to ensure critical success in life.

The organisation, she said, could consider supporting students from basic to tertiary education if the students prove to be dutiful but financially incapable.

At the Pologu Junior High School, a student who spoke on behalf of her colleagues appreciated the kind thoughts of GTLCO and appealed for further support, saying, “We lack furniture. We hope you will get money to come and help us with that too.”

A teacher from Dachio Tinganori, Norbert Akoriga, restated the commitment of the teachers to ensuring that they bring the best out of the students.

Give to Life is a charitable, non-governmental organisation that was established in March 2021. The idea for this organisation was mooted by Mrs. Dorcas Dadzie, who is based in Malmo, Sweden. The project areas of the organisation include the following: supply educational support to orphans and needy children as well as girl children; equip women in deprived areas with entrepreneurial skills for their livelihoods in areas of dressmaking,  hairdressing, coconut oil extraction, soap making, pastries and bread making, bead etc

Additionally, GTLCO embarks on community development projects such as sanitation, farming, and the provision of potable water in deprived communities within its jurisdiction.

GTLCO’s core mission is to empower and promote the well-being of women, children, and youth, with an emphasis on girl-child education to help them acquire skills and become productive members of their communities.

Through this mission statement, the vision to see the underprivileged women, children, and youth in deprived communities get their requisite skills and start up to make a living could be realised. Give to Life has embarked on successful projects in some deprived communities in Ghana and continues to do more to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged and vulnerable in the society.
