The Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central constituency in the Upper East Region, Sampson Tangombu Chiragiaa, has said he is confident of retaining his seat.

He explained that his victory would be based on the policies and infrastructural initiatives he’s taken despite challenges under the current administration.

Though expectations are high and more needs to be done in terms of job creation, improved education, and reshaping farming activities for greater heights, plans are far advanced to achieve the projected heights when working alongside the National Democratic Congress in 2023, according to him.

The legislator made the assurance after sailing through successfully at the just-ended NDC’s parliamentary primary vetting process in the Upper East Region on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

The legislator noted that the three aspirants are his brothers and understand the structures and the need for him to be retained.

“They are my brothers; they know that. Yes, they know that I should be retained. And I have the conviction that it will be retained because I have a lot to offer my people, especially in the areas of infrastructure, health, and improved education for all.”

He then stressed that job creation for Ghanaians and the smooth running of the economy for the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration in 2025 will be top priorities.

“The NDC is the only party that can save this country. What haven’t we seen or heard? We need to work together; let us mobilise ourselves for victory come the 2024 elections. From the grassroots level to the top of the party, we need to work for victory.”

To achieve that, the MP said efforts ought to be put in place from the grassroots levels to the top, as well as for every single Ghanaian who wants the best for the country to realise the NDC comes to power in the 2024 elections.

“It saddens my heart anytime I look at the teeming youth in the constituency who have the expertise that can improve their lives and that of the constituency yet are laying waste simply because this current administration under Akufo-Addo has failed them. It is sad. But as I said, we can, if we all put our hands on it, vote out this NPP government and give 100% to the NDC, and I will win the 2024 elections,” he added.
