Pandy Bobby, the reigning artist of the year, has revealed how much money he spent on voting at the Upper East Music Awards just to win the Artiste Of The Year Category.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Mr. Lexis on A1 Radio’s Entertainment Zone, he said, “I can put a particular amount on how much I invested, but it is more than 20,000 cedis.”
As to why he would use that amount for voting in that category alone, he said, “It’s not about the money to me but the prestige and honour it brings. I have worked hard in the year under review, so I am worthy of that award.”
He said the amount used wasn’t particularly from his own pocket “The money I used wasn’t mine but was sourced for funds from people to vote, coupled with my hard work to win.”
Pandy recently received a total cash incentive of 25,022 cedis for winning both Artiste of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year with his hit single ‘Bungerigo’.
He is scheduled to host his ‘Thank You Concert’ in May this year to appreciate his fans. He has promised to perform two new, unreleased singles.
Pandy also promised to release five songs before the end of the year.
