Anthrax Outbreak: 6,000 ruminants vaccinated, 30,000 vaccines en route to Upper East Region

Following the outbreak of the Anthrax disease in the region, the Upper East Regional Minister, who doubles as the Regional Public Health Emergency Committee Chairman, Stephen Yakubu has indicated that 6,000 ruminants have been vaccinated. 

The vaccines, according to the Minister, is absolutely free. The exercise is happening concurrently across the region. 

Mr. Yakubu added that the region has been able to procure 30,000 Anthrax vaccines from Pong Tamale, the production centre. 

He said more vaccines will be procured in the coming days. The Upper East Regional Minister advised farmers, and ruminant owners to embrace the vaccination process to manage the spread of the disease.
