Don’t create cracks during campaign, it’ll give NDC an opportunity to batter us – Mr. Atariwini to presidential hopefuls

The Deputy Upper East Regional Communication Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Andrew Atariwini, is calling for calm as the flagbearer race for the party intensifies. Mr. Atariwini, speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show explained that all flagbearer hopefuls along with their campaign teams must run campaigns that do not divide the party.

A divided NPP, Mr. Atariwini feared, would be walloped by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the 2024 election.

“We have always advocated that we do not do anything to mar the unity we have as a party now. If we do, we raise the chances of giving the NDC or the opposition the opportunity to give us a strong battering into the main election,” he said.

Mr. Atariwini added that from the look of things, all 10 candidates would successfully pass vetting. The onus would now be on the super delegates to limit the number to 5 at the super delegates conference.

“The super delegates would be the ones to decide and then we can go into the main election,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Atariwini opined that so far, all campaigns have been modest with very little concerns raised about the processes by the candidates.
