The immediate past presiding member for the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, Rawfield Nyaaba Abileo has filed to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries in the Bolgatanga Central constituency with conviction of winning the seat for the NPP in the 2024 parliamentary election.

Mr. Abileo who stormed the party office in Bolgatanga with a massive crowd said, there was a call from grassroots members of the party for him to contest the primaries. He explained that he is a true and committed member of the party who led the party and remains the right person to unseat the current MP, Isaac Adongo.

Mr. Abileo who is the current NPP Constituency First Vice Chairman in the Bolga Central Constituency said, the party delegates know what he can do for them.

“I have been a party member since my childhood, and people believe in me and convinced me to go into this election. The reason being that, I have been in the leadership off the party from the polling station level, to the electoral area to the constituency. So I have the chance because I have won several elections and I am with them. I won the last election when I contested the constituency First Vice Chair position and I know most of them voted for me and still have the trust that they will still vote for me,” he told the media after filing on Thursday.

Mr. Abileo, who led the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly as a presiding member described himself as a unifier and somebody who can pull floating votes for the party.

“We need someone who will be able to attract floating voters, who we will be able to lure other people from other parties. It has ever happened here, 2000, 2004, PNC candidate won. He was somebody who was appealing to the people, appealing to the grassroots, who was down to earth and I think I am in that position.”
