The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Builsa North constituency in the Upper East Region, Thomas Alonsi has disclosed that the people of the area are yearning for a fresh representation in parliament and he is the right person to lead them to achieve their aspiration.

Mr. Alonsi believes that the current Member of Parliament for Builsa North, James Agalga of the National Democratic Congress has not been able to effectively represent the interests of the people and argued that the constituency needs a new approach to development and representation.

He is confident that with the support of the constituents, he can make a positive difference in their lives and effectively represent their interests in parliament.

“Victory is assured come the 7th of December 2024. I say this confidently because the people of this constituency are crying for a certain freshness in representation in parliament and Thomas Alonsi is the answer to that cry”

The Executive Director of the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) said he comes with an all-inclusive leadership trait that ensures the voices of the people are heard and represented in parliament to solve the challenges confronting the constituency.

Mr. Alonsi, unwaveringly said he is ready to unseat the incumbent MP based on his contribution that impacts lives in the constituency and the track record of the government of the day in the provision of potable water, education, health infrastructure, and employment for the people of the Builsa North.

Mr. Alonsi made these remarks when he was declared by the Electoral Commission as the parliamentary candidate for the Builsa North by popular acclamation. While thanking the 421 delegates and party supporters for the confidence reposed in him, Mr. Alonsi said the acclamation “marks the beginning of the match of the people of Builsa North to wrestle the parliamentary seat from the incumbent James Agalga”.

By allowing him to go unopposed in the parliamentary primaries, the NPP parliamentary candidate mentioned that the unity demonstrated by the party faithful in the constituency is an indication of a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2024 general election.

The NPP parliamentary candidate pledged to work closely with the chiefs and people of Builsa North to address the unique needs of the constituency. Mr. Alonsi also called for unity among NPP supporters and the people of Builsa North, stating that it is through collaboration and collective efforts that meaningful development can be achieved. He urged the constituents to vote for him in the upcoming elections to enable him to bring about the desired change and development in the constituency.
