The Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sampson Tangombu Chiragia, has extended a helping hand to a pair of four-month-old twins who tragically lost their mother just weeks ago at the Kologo-zuo Community Health Facility in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality.

According to the legislator, he heard the information through social media when a community health nurse posted about the infants, calling for support.

“I was heartbroken when I heard the news, so I quickly mobilized something for the family. I know it is not easy, especially when I heard that their grandmother, who is now 85 years old, is taking care of them. I was so devastated. Of course, I know that this token is not enough, but in the meantime, it can serve a purpose.”

He emphasized that the donation was a modest token intended to assist the family with pressing financial needs, adding the need for collective support to ensure the well-being and healthy development of the infants who now find themselves without a mother.

The MP also urged the public to join him in keeping the welfare of the bereaved twins in their thoughts and prayers.

“I call on you all, your prayers, and good thoughts to always be on these infants for a healthy life so that they will grow and become the future leaders that the country needs.”

The swift response from the Member of Parliament, family members said, came in handy and underscores a personal commitment to the well-being of those he serves.

They, however, prayed for the legislator and NDC members for their thoughtfulness, adding that the donation will not only ease immediate financial burdens but also symbolize a community united in empathy and care.
