AquaBolg Foundation, the corporate social responsibility wing of AquaBolg Natural Mineral Water, producers of sachet water in the Upper East Region, and Anini Project, a non-governmental organization (NGO), have stepped forward to address the pressing water scarcity issue at Our Lady of Lourdes Girls’ Senior High School in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region.
It can be recalled that our reporter, Moses Apiah, shed light on the dire circumstances faced by the students, revealing how the lack of adequate water infrastructure had been disrupting their daily lives. Personal hygiene routines, a fundamental aspect of student well-being, were being compromised due to the recurring water shortages.
The situation caught the attention of the AquaBolg Foundation, prompting them to take swift action to alleviate the students’ plight by donating a PolyTank for water storage.
Additionally, Anini Project, a non-governmental organization (NGO), has drilled and commissioned a handpump borehole for the school to alleviate the water crisis.
Commenting on the PolyTank donation from the AquaBolg Foundation, the headmistress, Madam Mary Amana, noted that it will make a significant impact on the daily lives of the students.
“With a reliable water storage solution now in place, the students can expect a more consistent and accessible water supply, enabling them to uphold essential hygiene practices without hindrance.”
She also appreciated the media house’s contribution, stating that aside from AquaBolg Mineral Water’s support, a local non-governmental organization (NGO) named Anini Project also came to their rescue.
“This NGO took a proactive approach by constructing a new borehole for the students, addressing the root cause of the water scarcity issue. It drilled a new borehole for us.”
Ebo Bruce Quansah, the Programs Director at AquaBolg Foundation, expressed the organization’s commitment to supporting essential services in the community.
