The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has vowed to win convincingly in the 2024 elections despite what he says are threats by some members in the constituency to vote skirt and blouse.
Speaking at a recently organized event to inaugurate the NDC’s women wing’s working committee, Dr. Ayine says he has picked information about the decision of those who lost in the constituency election to vote for the NPP’s parliamentary candidate.
“I’m hearing about skirt and blouse in my own Constituency. Those who lost in the Constituency elections and primaries and so on, they say that they are going to vote for the NPP candidate and then vote for John Mahama. But God willing, I will defeat them same way I defeated them in 2020,” he stated.
According to Dr. Ayine, he would have been a 2nd deputy speaker if the NDC had majority in parliament.
While advising members against voting skirt and blouse, Dr. Ayine has vowed to ensure he defeats the NPP candidate convincingly.
“If we had a majority, I would have been Second Deputy Speaker. So the thing I want to say is that Binduri, skirt and blouse alone led us to where we are”.
