Suspect apprehended in Yorogo electoral area after fatal stabbing of 22-year-old man

The Assembly member for Yorogo Electoral Area in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region, Desmond Aniah, has confirmed that the prime suspect involved in the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, has been apprehended by the police.

The suspect’s accomplices, however, remain elusive, he added.

Mr. Aniah made this known during an interview on A1 Radio, shedding light on the disturbing incident that unfolded in the serene community.

According to Mr. Aniah, the motive behind the heinous act remains unclear, but he emphasized that the arrested suspect has a history of hooliganism and is known for the use of hard drugs within the community.

The Assembly member expressed relief that law enforcement acted swiftly to detain the suspect, providing a sense of justice and security to the residents of Yorogo.

Mr. Aniah commended the police for their diligence in apprehending the alleged perpetrator and urged them to intensify efforts to capture the remaining individuals involved in the crime.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperative with the ongoing investigation, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in maintaining safety.

He also called for increased awareness and preventive measures against drug abuse and hooliganism, stressing the need for a united effort to address such social issues.
