The Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Simon Akibange Aworigo, has asked the public to ignore rumors or comments that would suggest that the party is disunited.

Additionally, Mr. Aworigo asked the public to treat with contempt comments that suggest that there is a rift between himself and the outgoing Member of Parliament for the area, Sampson Tangombu Chiragiaa.

Mr. Aworigo made these comments on the Day Break Upper East Show with Mark Smith after he was asked about rumors that had emerged, stating that the National Chairman of the party, Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, had visited the constituency to mend the emerging rift between the PC and the MP.

“There are no problems at all. We are all together. If there are cracks out there, you would soon find out, wouldn’t you? The results of the December 7, 2024, elections would be out soon, and that would be the biggest verdict in all we are doing. I know you are a journalist, and A1 Radio is a big platform, so you are aware that we had our national chairman here, and other members of the council and the son of the soil, Abraham Amaliba. We sat down and had a conversation and very honest discussion. People said what they had to say, what they felt, and what they thought the way was to go. All the aspirants who contested, we spoke and told the supporters that we are together in one vehicle heading for victory,” he said.

Touching on his relationship with the outgoing MP, Mr. Aworigo explained that while they are not bosom friends, they have a cordial working relationship that continues to grow and deepen.

“I have spoken with the current MP, my older brother, Sampson Tangombu Chirgaiaa, and we had a very honest brotherly talk. The thing is this; people would exaggerate things and say things that would catch the attention of the media. Truth is that there has never been a problem,” he added.

Mr. Aworigo explained that he would continue to lead a team of dedicated party executives and party faithful alike in selling his ideas and the reason he is the best bet for the Navrongo Central Constituency ahead of the 2024 parliamentary election.
