Small-scale miners in the Upper East Region have donated 110 bags of cement to the Ghana Police Service for the construction of a conference center. Robert Boazor Tampoare, chairman of Unity Concessioners Association said the donation was based on a request by the police service for support to construct the conference center.

“When this project started, the regional police command sent an invitation to us for support to put up the conference center. We’ve seen that there is a need for us to also support. So, the small-scale miners who have an agreement with Earl International, Unity Concessioners Association, have decided to donate 110 bags of cement to support the project.”

He stated that the generous contribution is to demonstrate their support for law enforcement efforts by local police service. Mr. Boazor said this when he led members of the association to donate the cement to the Upper East regional police command at the Regional Police Headquarters in Bolgatanga.

The Regional Police Commanded, ACOP Adofiem Raymond Wejong thanked the miners for their support towards the completion of the project. The conference center which is under construction when completed will comprise a canteen, offices, and a multipurpose conference hall among others.
