Judicial Service inaugurates district court in Bolgatanga East District

The Judicial Service of Ghana on Monday, January 29th, 2024, inaugurated a district court in the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region in a bid to improve legal access and justice delivery.

Justice Gbiel S. Suurbaareh, a representative of the Chief Justice, noted that for the institution to realize its full potential, there is a crucial need for collective backing from both traditional authorities and residents alike.

Justice Suurbaareh, who is the judge of the Court of Appeal, stressed further that the establishment of the court stands as a testament to Ghana’s dedication to building a robust legal framework that serves the needs of all its citizens, regardless of their geographical location.

The ceremony, attended by dignitaries including legal professionals and community members, aimed to strengthen legal activities in the region and enhance the overall judicial system.

The District Chief Executive for Bolgatanga East, David Amoah, also touched on the positive impact of the newly established court on justice and community safety.

According to him, the district court would go beyond being a physical structure, transforming into a powerful symbol of the community’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and safeguarding the rights of its residents.

He therefore assured that residents and stakeholders within the district will play their part to improve and support the working staff of the court.
