The Municipal Chief Executive for Bawku Municipal Assembly, Hamza Amadu, has indicated that the municipality is benefiting from a Guinea fowl production factory under the government’s One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative.

According to him, the fowl factory has received the necessary machines that are ready for installation.

“These machines are brand new and come from Europe. Everything that is required for a factory to function is set and ready. If you want proof, come to Bawku, and I will take you to the facility for you to see things for yourself,” he stated.

The MCE, who spoke on A1 Radio, expressed confidence that the factory would soon be operational, emphasizing that procuring raw materials would not pose a challenge.

However, he shed light on the delays in the installation process and subsequent commencement of operations, attributing them to the persistent conflict plaguing the area.

“…On the day of installing these machines, the contractor is from Bolgatanga here. They were there when they heard that one man had been shot, at a place not far from where they were, so they had to put a stop to it. But I’m following up on it,” he explained.

Mr. Amadu further underscored the NPP government’s commitment to fostering industrialization at the grassroots level through the 1D1F initiative.

He said the project, when started, will promote economic growth, reduce unemployment, and enhance self-sufficiency amongst locals.

The Municipal Chief Executive therefore acknowledged the importance of addressing the conflict to ensure smooth implementation of such projects, particularly the 1D1F initiative.
