The Upper East Regional Communication Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, has said the party in the region is absolutely clear on the number of seats it wants to win.
Speaking to Mark Smith on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show, Mr. Ayinbisa Ayamga said the party, as part of preparations ahead of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary election, is clear in its mind which seats it intends to snatch from the NDC.
The NDC currently holds 14 out of the 15 available seats in the region. The Binduri seat is held by the NPP’s Abdulai Abanga.
While Mr. Ayinbisa remained tightlipped around the specific seats, he mentioned that the NPP is working to snatch two seats within the central zone of the region. The available seats in the central zone are Bolgatanga Central, Bolgatanga East, Bongo, Nabdam, and Talensi.
The Regional Communications Director stated that the Parliamentary Candidates in the area had shown enough resourcefulness, commitment, and were of good standing in the various constituencies enough to win at least two seats on behalf of the party.
Meanwhile, the party hopes to win 7 seats in total in the Upper East Region, while the NDC suggests that it will win all 15 seats.
