The Renal Dialysis Centre at the Upper East Regional Hospital is undergoing the final phase of testing. After the tests are finalized, the centre will be open to the public, and for the first time, patients with kidney-related conditions can receive dialysis treatment in the region.
When the lead convenor for the establishment of a dialysis centre in the Upper East Region, Dr. Emmanuel Akatibo, spoke to Mark Smith on A1 Radio, he mentioned that consumables had been received.
Additionally, there had been a refresher course for the medical officers expected to run the facility. However, there had to be one final test of the equipment installed at the facility, some of it months ago, to ensure that it was functioning properly.
After the tests are concluded, an opening date will be set. Again, a date would be set for the official launch of the facility. At this launch, it is expected that there will be an account of all the funds committed to establishing the facility.
