Anytime Matthew coughs, Bolga East NDC sneezes – Lawyer Anthony Namoo

Lawyer Anthony Namoo, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed confidence that the party is poised to win the Bolgatanga East constituency seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.

According to Mr. Namoo, the NDC now “sneezes” whenever the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Bolgatanga East constituency, Matthew Silas Amoah, “coughs.” He interprets this as a clear indication that the NDC’s grip on the constituency seat is weakening.

“You can see that the NDC is now sneezing. Anytime Matthew coughs, the NDC sneezes and you don’t need anybody to tell you that Bolga East is all but slipping out of their hands,” Lawyer Namoo declared.

The NPP regional chairman said, regardless of the party’s chance of snatching the seat from the NDC, it is not complacent until the 2024 general election results are declared in favor of Mr. Amoah and the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. He attributed the increasing support for the NPP in the constituency to the numerous development projects and initiatives spearheaded by both the NPP parliamentary candidate and the government.

“The good works of our parliamentary candidate, Matthew Silas Amoah, and the NPP government are resonating with the people of Bolgatanga East,” Namoo stated. “They are recognizing the positive impact of our policies and programs.”

Lawyer Anthony Namoo spoke to the media after he inaugurated a campaign team for the NPP in the Bolgatanga East constituency, held at the Zuarungu Catholic Social Center over the weekend. He urged party supporters to remain focused and mobilize effectively to ensure victory for the NPP in the upcoming elections.

Ever since the creation of the Bolgatanga East constituency in the year 2012, Dr. Dominic Ayine of the NDC has since become the MP for the area, serving 12 years and again seeking the mandate to go back to parliament. But the NPP regional chairman said the MP for the area had always campaigned against the NPP parliamentary candidate on age differences. But speaking about the chances of the NPP in the Bolgatanga East constituency, Lawyer Anthony Namoo said the party has a candidate who is younger than Dr. Ayine and resourceful.

“The younger person [Dr. Ayine], so soon has turned into an older person. Age is one factor and resourcefulness is another factor and this means you have a candidate who will know where to go and what to do. As a candidate, he [Matthew Silas Amoah] has sunk a lot of boreholes in Bolga East, and paid a lot of fees”, he added.
