The Member of Parliament for Binduri, Abdulai Abanga, on May 29th, 2024, extended substantial educational support to 205 local tertiary students, disbursing a total of GHS 200,000 from his “Initiative for Tertiary Education.”
In a ceremony at the Binduri District Assembly conference hall, the legislator presented checks to the beneficiaries, each receiving GHS 1,000 to aid their academic endeavors.
Addressing the students, Mr. Abanga emphasized the importance of education in driving the human capital development of both the constituency and the nation.
“Take your education seriously,” he urged. “Your success will not only benefit you personally but also contribute significantly to the progress of Binduri and Ghana as a whole.”
He explained further that he had facilitated full scholarships for two students from Binduri currently pursuing Bachelor’s degrees at Ashesi University and the University of Ghana, as well as six students from the constituency who received support to study various programs abroad.
The ceremony saw an outpouring of gratitude from the beneficiaries and their families. Many parents and party executives praised Mr. Abanga for his dedication to education and pledged their support for his re-election bid in the upcoming December 7th elections.
The sentiment among the students was equally appreciative. “This support means a lot to us,” said one beneficiary. “It eases our financial burdens and allows us to focus more on our studies.”
